Spot a Fake Online

There are lots of ways to add to your collection but whether you’ve got DSL or http://internet.clear.com internet odds are you love trading online. The biggest issue many of our clients have with adding to their collections over auction sites is spotting a fake – here are our tips on how to come out ahead.
Get some references: The easiest way to spot a bad dealer is by looking at their past feedback – if other people have had bad experiences odds are you will, too. Check for negative feedback scores and responses and take them seriously.
Bring in a Professional: Ask someone in your community who knows their stuff to review the item being offered – some fakes can be spotted quickly by someone who knows their stuff. If they hesitate at all, think of ditching the buy and finding something else.
Get assurance: Pay extra for insurance or a guarantee on the item in case you receive it and it turns out to be a fake. Most auction houses offer the ability to dispute a purchase and you may have to utilize their services.
